That’s how far our technology goes. Lighting and special effects such as strobe lights and video projections are displayed instantaneously to the beat of the music. In the recent electronic music event in San Bernardino, CA, Steve Lieberman showcased his skills in displaying lighting effects to the tempo and beat of the music.
Much like a DJ does in a party, Lieberman syncs the lighting display to the music while DJ artists play in real time. The job he did is no ordinary. He has to jive with the tune of music all along. He said, “Everything is run live. I don’t know a single song these DJ’s are going to play.”
To do this, his console has to be set up in such a way that he can instantaneously control the lighting. What is more, there are certain things that are critical: “Video and lighting need to match up with the color … purple and green that would look terrible. You want similar color palettes.”
Now, there is more to Dj-ing music, even lighting and video projections can all be synced and play to the tune of the music.
