A Beatles-owned guitar has been up for auction last September 12. The Australian-made Maton Mastersound MS500, designed by Bill May, is prized by many for its profound design and extreme playability. George Harrison’s MS500 was used in the Beatles last appearance in the Cavern Club in 1963. It is also the same guitar used by George when he performed for Beatlemania’s tours in America and the UK.
The MS500 as a Very Special Guitar
Auctioneer Luke Hobbs claims that, “The guitar is something very special – a direct link to the early days of Beatlemania and those era-defining gigs at the Cavern Club.” They’re expecting to pique international interest since George Harrison guitars are rarely up for auction. He also claims that simply touching the guitar will make your fingers tingle.
